I can hardly believe it has been over 25 years since the time I was lucky enough to find my first customer. Back then, things were very different. It was I who sold, purchased supplies, installed, serviced, planned, handled all the company records, advertising and tackled virtually everything necessary to keep the boat afloat.

Fast forward to these days - sometimes it seems just that fast. With the help of some outstanding people on my staff, I have been able to build this company into the area's most recognized and successful locally owned and operated security firm. If I had to find one reason or at least the main reason for our success as a company, I believe it would be personalized service. In a world of voice mail, e-mail, online ordering, and countless impersonal ways to transfer information, our tactic has been face-to-face contact, live operators, personal responsibility for a task assigned, and an old time approach to business. A "face to go with the voice" if you will.

As far as the need for a security system, I have personally watched home security evolve from a luxury to a necessity, and in fact, hardly a new home is built that does not have a security system installed during construction. Over time it has become obvious that Burglary is a big business. In reality, burglary is so profitable that if it were not illegal, you would consider purchasing stock in it or even contemplate entering the trade yourself. According to the National Crime Survey by the U.S. Department of Justice, nearly 7,000,000 homes are burglarized each year. An unprotected home is five to six more times likely to be burglarized in comparison with a system-secured home.

So here we are. A quarter century down the road and we find ourselves not only providing security systems for homes and families but also for large commercial firms and government agencies.
